According to officials, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has identified 250 dengue hotspots in the city to limit the spread of vector-borne diseases. To control mosquito breeding, power spray tankers and motorized pumps are used in all 12 zones to cover big water bodies and sewers.

Between September and October, the local council imposed 12 penalties on the irrigation and flood control department, four on Northern Railway, and two on the public works department.

A civic official stated that the MCD has increased fogging at various locations to prevent mosquito breeding, identified about 250 hotspots where widespread mosquito breeding has been observed, and is taking other steps to prevent mosquito breeding, including fogging, insecticide spraying, and the release of larval fish into large bodies of water.

In order to eradicate breeding grounds close to railroad tracks, the civic body has started a Mosquito Terminator train in conjunction with the railways in every zone. A collaborative effort is also being implemented in the wards where dengue cases tend to cluster.

MCD has hosted 17,418 meetings with resident welfare associations, distributed flyers, and calendars, and displayed panels on Metro trains to raise awareness. MCD also has mass-messaged Delhi residents to inform them of various dengue prevention strategies and created WhatsApp groups in each affected ward.

Authorities stated that seven different kinds of insecticides are used to kill mosquito larvae and adults. 3,170 domestic breeding checkers from MCD are moving around in the city to douse stagnant water in insecticides.
